Join us for a powerful and inspiring series highlighting the spirit of community, resilience, and the ongoing fight for liberation!

Explore a breathtaking photographic exhibit showcasing unforgettable moments from The National Council’s 10th Anniversary FreeHer March and Rally 2024 in Washington, D.C. Through the lens of renowned photographers Devin Allen, Kisha Bari, Johnny Perez, and more, witness the powerful stories of women and communities standing up for justice, freedom and ending incarceration of women and girls.

As part of the event, there will be an interactive screening of “COMMUTED,” a moving documentary that follows the journey of Danielle Metz, whose triple life sentence was commuted after 23 years in prison. The film intimately traces her return home to New Orleans, where she faces the challenges of rebuilding her life and healing from the trauma of incarceration.

This event is not just a celebration but a call to action—an opportunity to reflect on the urgent need to end the incarceration of women and girls whose lives and families are disproportionately affected by the injustices of the criminal legal system. Together, we can honor the resilience of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women and amplify the demand for abolition, knowing that the fight for true justice must include the liberation of all.
